Samantha Karen "Sam" Fox (born 15 April 1966) is an English dance-pop singer, songwriter, actress, and former glamour model. In 1983, at age 16, she began appearing on Page 3 of The Sun, and continued as a Page 3 girl until she was 20. During this time, she became the most popular pin-up girl of her era, as well as one of the most photographed British women of the 1980s. In 1986, she launched her pop-music career with her debut single "Touch Me (I Want Your Body)", which hit Number 1 in 17 countries. She has since sold over 30 million albums worldwide. She has also appeared in a number of films and reality television shows, and has occasionally worked as a television presenter.

WHO COULD FORGET CAGNEY AND LACEY? Cagney & Lacey is an award-winning series starring Sharon Gless (Christine Cagney) and Tyne Daly (Mary Beth Lacey) which ran from 1982-1988. A police procedural, the show stars Tyne Daly and Sharon Gless as New York City police detectives who lead very different lives: Christine Cagney (Gless) was a single, career-minded woman, while Mary Beth Lacey (Daly) was a married working mother. The series was set in a fictionalized version of Manhattan's 14th Precinct (known as "Midtown South"). For six consecutive years, one of the two lead actresses won the Emmy for Best Lead Actress in a Drama (four wins for Daly, two for Gless), a winning streak unmatched in any major category by a show. Cagney & Lacey is an American television series that originally aired on the CBS television network for seven seasons from March 25, 1982 to May 16, 1988.

WHO COULD FORGET DYNASTY? Dynasty is an US prime time tv soap opera that aired on ABC from 1981 to 1989. The series, created by Richard and Esther Shapiro, revolved around the Carringtons, a fictional wealthy family, residing in Denver, Colorado. Ratings for the show's first season were low, but the fall 1981 arrival of Joan Collins as Blake's scheming ex-wife Alexis Morell Carrington saw ratings enter the top twenty. By the fall of 1982, it was a top ten show, and by the spring of 1985, it was the #1 show in the United States. Other notable cast members included Pamela Sue Martin, Lloyd Bochner, Heather Locklear, Michael Nader, Diahann Carroll, Emma Samms, Ted McGinley, Rock Hudson, Kate O'Mara and Stephanie Beacham. Dynasty was nominated for a Golden Globe Award for Best TV Drama Series every year from 1981 to 1986, winning in 1984. Dynasty spawned a successful line of fashion and luxury products, and also a spin-off series called The Colbys. The series continued until the spring of 1989.

WHO COULD FORGET FAME? Fame is an US tv series produced between 1982-1987. The show is based on the 1980 motion picture of the same name. Using a mixture of drama and music, it followed the lives of the students at the NY City High School for the Performing Arts. Although fictional, it was based heavily on the actual Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts in New York. Most interior scenes were filmed in Hollywood, California. In all seasons except the 3rd, the show filmed several exterior scenes on location in New York City. The fourth season featured 18 year old Janet Jackson as one of the students. The popularity of the series, particularly in the UK, led to several hit records and live concert tours by the cast. Despite its success, very few of the actors maintained high-profile careers after the series was cancelled.

Prior to the arrival of the internet, Bahai conferences and the bookshops present in Bahai conferences summerschools was a main method of self-education. They formed in London, and entered the music scene in 1985 with their debut single "Who Needs Love Like That". Following the release of their fourth single "Sometimes", the duo established itself on the UK Singles Chart and became one of the most successful artists of the late 1980s to mid-1990s. The duo is most popular in its native UK, mainland Europe, in South America The band is also popular within the LGBT community for whom the openly gay singer Andy Bell has become a gay icon.

WHO COULD FORGET MADONNA? Madonna Louise Ciccone born became famous in the early 80s. Known as the queen of pop, She has sold over 300 million records. Born in Bay City, Michigan, Madonna moved to New York City to pursue a career in modern dance. After performing in the music groups Breakfast Club and Emmy, she signed with Sire Records (an affiliate of Warner Bros. Records) in 1982 and released her self-titled debut album the following year. She followed it with a series of commercially successful albums, and the rest is history -- a career in music and movies. This includes Grammy Award winners Ray of Light (1998) and Confessions on a Dance Floor (2005). Throughout her career, she has written and produced most of her songs, Madonna has sold more than 300 million records worldwide and is recognized as the best-selling female recording artist of all time by Guinness World Records. According to the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), she is the best-selling female rock artist of the 20th century.
